Some places don’t need to introduce themselves. They simply leave an impression. Jimma is one of those places. For generations, Jimma has been part of Ethiopia’s coffee history.
Jimma is a place where coffee grows surrounded by forests, farms and mountains. The landscape feels generous, kind, green, fertile and alive. Coffee trees grow among other plants, shaded and nurtured by the rhythm of the seasons.
JIREN is our way of bringing a piece of that history into the cup. JIREN carries a depth.
There is sweetness first, then warmth with notes of ripe fruit develop into cocoa-like richness, with a rounded body and a lingering finish.
It is extraordinarily comforting. Familiar, but with enough character to make you stop and pay attention.
We think JIREN represents the importance of diversity in Ethiopian coffee.
