Ethiopia gave the world coffee. For generations, its mountains, forests, farms, and communities have cultivated coffees of extraordinary character. Each region shaped by its own altitude, soil, climate, traditions, and identity.

Our journey begins there.

Through our sister company, Qawwa Coffee Exporters, an all women enterprise dedicated to uplifting women across the coffee supply chain, we work close to origin. We source Ethiopian coffees from specialty to commercial grades and build lasting relationships with the farmers and communities who grow them.

But we wanted to take that journey further. We wanted to create something that could express what happens after the green bean leaves its origin.

That is where PHYRMA was born.

Created by the same sisters who built Qawwa, PHYRMA is a roasting house that brings together Ethiopian heritage and modern roasting craft. It is guided by the same vision, elevating the people, especially the women, who make Ethiopian coffee possible, while revealing the true character of every origin through precise, respectful roasting.

Because we firmly believe that great coffee does not simply need to be sourced.

It needs to be understood.

And then, carefully, transformed.
